We partner with leading biopharmaceutical firms tackling the most complex medical challenges.

Rare and Ultra-Rare Disease

A rare disease is any disease that affects a small percentage of the population. In the United States, a rare disease is one that fewer than 200,000 people live with. (In other words, 60 per 100,000 individuals.) Commonly, rare diseases don’t receive the attention they deserve, making connecting talent with pharmaceutical firms critically important.

Gene
Therapy

Gene therapy is a technique that uses genes to treat or prevent diseases such as cancer by inserting a gene into a patient’s cells instead of using drugs or surgery. Researchers are testing several approaches to gene therapy, including; replacing a mutated gene that causes disease with a healthy copy of the gene, inactivating, or “knocking out” a mutated gene that is functioning improperly, and Introducing a new gene into the body to help fight a disease. Experts warn that the promise of the technology to treat large patient populations could be stunted by a lack of talent in the pipeline.

Cell
Therapy

Cell therapy is therapy in which cellular material is injected, grafted or implanted into a patient; this generally means intact, living cells. For example, T cells capable of fighting cancer cells via cell-mediated immunity may be injected in the course of immunotherapy. Industry leaders report workforce shortages that have the potential to impede advancement in therapeutic interventions.
